What are some other ways to improve swimming endurance other than freestyle? What are some good drills to do?
I аm having ԁіѕtrеѕѕ swimming more tһаח 200m wһеח I ɡο tο tһе pool. Mу goal іѕ tο swim a 500 іח tһе next four months. Aחу tips wουƖԁ bе greatly valued.

4 months for 500m is too much, if you are swimming at least 3 era a week for 4 months you can target 1,000m or 1,500m.
Use Paddle & Buoy, kick board and fins. Warm up 100 naked, then 300 with fins, then 200 paddle and buoy, and you can cool down with kick board. Then every week increase your distance.
Just use freestyle for the meantime, just get your rhythm and endurance first.
Try and break the 500 into parts like kick, drill, amd swimming the freestyle and then try and place the thing all collectively, see if you can do the 200 – 500 m
If you are having that much distress swimming such a small distance, you might want to build your cardio by some other activity, like running or biking. Once you’re in better cardio shape, then try going back to the swimming with your new endurance.

Try pyramids. Start tiny, do a 25, then a 50, then another 50, then a 25; so that would be 150. Then build it up over time, start doing a 25, then a 50, then a 75, and back down. Keep doing this and you’ll be doing 500′s in no time. It seems like a lot less because you can take breaks in between, but it certainly builds endurance really well.
